Permanent Outdoor Lighting PPC Starts With the Math of One Signed Home

Permanent lighting sits in an odd place in the market. It is a track or channel of programmable LEDs that stays on the house all year, so the buyer is not thinking about hanging lights in November; they are thinking about never doing it again. They also tend to want it for holidays, game days, parties and curb appeal, which means the decision is both practical and emotional. People search for permanent Christmas lights, permanent holiday lights, permanent roofline lighting, smart outdoor lights and outdoor lighting installers, and they often compare two or three companies before they let anyone measure the house.

That shapes the budget in three ways. First, the ticket is high, so a signed home can justify a patient, carefully targeted spend. Second, the visit is a real event: someone has to measure linear feet, discuss zones and colors, and explain how control apps work, so the number of estimates your team can run in a week is the actual ceiling on how much demand you want. Third, the season has a deadline built in, because people who want lights glowing for the holidays have to sign well before the installation crews are booked solid.

It is worth stating the competition honestly. Many searchers type holiday lighting and are looking for a company that hangs temporary strings each year. Others type landscape lighting and want path lights and uplights. Neither is your buyer unless you also offer those services. A worksheet-first approach forces you to decide which of these you want, so that budget is spent on the person who wants permanent track lighting and not on everyone with a string of bulbs in mind.

Finally, remember that the account lives in Google Ads and that every dollar of pay per click spend is a choice about what the crew can install. The best ceiling is not the largest one you can afford. It is the one at which your estimators, installers and follow-up people are busy without being buried, because a surge of inquiries followed by slow replies and long lead times turns a good month into a bad review.

After a few weeks the Google Ads account produces numbers, and the temptation is to look at clicks. A better habit is to hold the worksheet beside the report. How many calls and forms came in, how many became booked estimates, and how many signed? If the answer to the last question is slow, remember that high-ticket lighting takes time. People measure, wait for a design, discuss it with a spouse and check the HOA before signing. A fair read waits long enough to see signed homes, not only booked visits.

It also pays to split results by service. Permanent holiday lighting, roofline accent lighting and smart year-round color systems attract slightly different buyers with different timing. If one performs well and another does not, you can move money without touching the rest. Search terms that produce estimates deserve more budget; those that produce only questions deserve less.

Finally, be honest about what no one can promise. Nobody can name a date by which ads will pay for themselves, a fixed volume of leads or a cost per estimate before they have seen your market, your reviews and your response speed. A manager who offers those numbers is guessing. A manager who gives you a worksheet and asks for your own figures is doing the work.
